Celebrating 25 Years of Service

In 1998, a single fundraising event was organized to help a local child facing serious illness. What began as a small act of compassion quickly revealed a much larger need within the community. Families throughout Crete, Illinois, and the surrounding areas were facing overwhelming challenges caused by illness, medical expenses, and the emotional toll that comes with them. Recognizing this ongoing need, Angels on Assignment was officially formed in 1999. For the past 25 years, Angels on Assignment has been dedicated to supporting local families and children dealing with serious and life-altering illnesses. Through financial assistance, emotional support, and community involvement, our volunteers—our “Angels”—work tirelessly to bring hope and relief during some of life’s most difficult moments. Whether it’s helping with medical expenses, travel costs, meals, or creating meaningful moments of joy away from illness, our mission has always been rooted in compassion and service. Now, as we proudly celebrate our 25th year, we reflect with deep gratitude on the impact we have made together. None of this would be possible without the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our volunteers, and the support of our community partners. Each act of kindness, no matter how small, has helped us continue our mission of caring for those in need.
